These Terms govern your use of Crankd, a cycling app by Vortra LLC. By using the app you agree to these terms. The app is provided as-is for personal, non-commercial use. Subscriptions are billed through the App Store and are subject to Apple's refund policies.

1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Crankd ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users of Crankd, operated by Vortra LLC ("we," "us," or "our").
2. Use of the Service
Crankd is a mobile cycling application that allows you to record rides, track component wear, and receive AI-powered ride analysis. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Crankd. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Safety notice: Crankd is a supplementary tool and should not be used as your primary navigation device or relied upon for safety-critical decisions. Always follow applicable traffic laws and ride safely. Do not use your device in a way that distracts you while cycling.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at support@vortraapp.com. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use of your account.
You may delete your account at any time from within the app under Profile → Delete Account. Deletion removes all your personal data from our systems within 30 days.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Crankd offers free and paid subscription tiers (Ride+ and Pro). Paid subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store.
- Billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through your Apple ID account.
- Renewals: Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple according to their policies. We do not issue refunds directly.
- Price changes: We will notify you of any price changes with reasonable advance notice.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of ride data, routes, and other content you create using Crankd. By using the App, you grant Vortra LLC a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the service to you.
For Crankd Coach (Pro tier), anonymized ride statistics may be used to improve the quality of AI analysis. This data is never linked to your identity or shared with third parties.
6. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
- Use automated means to access the App or its backend services
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Upload malicious code or content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data
7. Third-Party Services
Crankd uses third-party services including Firebase (Google), Apple's App Store, Mapbox, and Anthropic. Your use of the App is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these providers. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.
8. Disclaimers
Crankd is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.
GPS accuracy may vary depending on your device, location, and environmental conditions. Ride data recorded by the App should be considered approximate.
AI-generated ride analysis (Crankd Coach) is provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional athletic or medical advice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vortra LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, personal injury, or property damage related to cycling activities.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
